Nípa Dagunro

Dagunro, born Fasasi Olabankewin, was a legendary Nigerian actor and filmmaker famous for his powerful roles as a warrior, herbalist, and traditional ruler in Yoruba epic movies. He passed away on June 13, 2019, after a long battle with an illness. He started as a traditional stage and theater practitioner, was mentored by theater legend Duro Ladipo, and was known for chanting strong incantations and playing fierce characters. His son, Jamiu Olabankewin (Jamiu Dagunro), continues the family tradition as an actor and filmmaker.
