Kehinde Lijadu (22 October 1948 - 9 November 2019) was a Nigerian singer, one half of the identical-twin duo the Lijadu Sisters. With her twin Taiwo she was a pioneer of the 1970s and 1980s West African music scene, blending Afrobeat, funk, reggae and soul, and singing about social justice and women's rights. The sisters were cousins of Fela Kuti. Kehinde died in New York aged 71, after metastatic breast cancer and a stroke; Taiwo survives her. — Sources: Wikipedia, The New York Times
