Odufejo Iribike Tawskalitu

Odufejo Iribike Tawskalitu was born in Nigeria on 14 March 1950 and died on 27 February 2016, aged 65. To her family she was Iya ibeji — the mother of twins — and that is how she is remembered: a very hard-working mother. Not a title and not a position, just the daily work of feeding, raising and holding a home together, done without applause and without being asked. Her answer to people was a blessing. The words recorded for her are “God will bless you” — what she said, and what she meant. Those who were blessed by her are the ones who have written this page. Her son keeps this diary for her, so that the family’s own account of her lasts: hard-working, generous with blessings, and missed. Rest well, Iya ibeji.
