Delete your account

You can delete your account whenever you choose, and you do not have to explain why. Deletion is scheduled rather than instant: you get a 30-day cooling-off period, and signing back in during it cancels the deletion.

Three ways to ask

  1. In the app

    Open your profile, then Settings, then Account, then Delete account. If you were signed out, sign in first — the option only appears on your own account.

  2. On the web, signed in

    The form asks for your password, so nobody else can schedule a deletion on your account.

  3. By email, if you cannot sign in

    Write to us from the address on the account, or tell us the diary link, and say you want the account deleted. We answer every request within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your profile and settings
  • All your posts and photos
  • Diaries with no community tributes
  • All messages and comments
  • All your favorites and likes

30-Day Grace Period

You have 30 days to change your mind. Simply log back in to cancel the deletion.

If a diary you created has tributes from others, it will be preserved as an unclaimed memorial.
