Odufejo Ademola

Odufejo Ademola was born in Nigeria on 20 March 1945 and died on 10 March 2024, aged 78 — ten days short of his seventy-ninth birthday. His family put it in one line: a good father, and caring to all of us. The “all of us” is the part that matters. He was not good only to his own. He was known as Baba Leke — Leke’s father — a name given by the child he raised rather than by any office he held. And the phrase his family kept for him, Baba Edumare, is an address to God as Father: the words of a man who spoke to God plainly, and as a father. He died of cancer on 10 March 2024.
